Girl on the Glen

Softly sang the girl in the willow tree,
gently floated her voice on the glen.
Came the wind asking her why she sang sadly.
Answered the girl, I was hung here by men.
They wanted my sweetness each one at a time,
and when I refused them they beat me,
and raped me and left me here hanging.
The girl in the willow tree,
sadly singing,
a corpse on the glen.
